Michael McKenzie’s practice is primarily focused on public finance, serving as bond counsel, disclosure counsel, underwriter’s counsel, bank’s counsel, and special counsel for various types of tax-exempt and taxable public finance transactions for over 30 years.  He joined D. Seaton and Associates in 2013.  

Mr. McKenzie has worked on over 1,000 transactions with an aggregate principal amount of more than $100 billion, including revenue, general obligation, transportation, airport, water and sewer, healthcare, education, future tax secured, variable and fixed-rate bonds, commercial paper, certificates of participation, bond anticipation notes and working capital financings.  He also has experience with derivatives, direct purchases, and standby bond purchase agreements. He has worked on transactions in Florida, Texas, Georgia, Missouri, Louisiana, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia.

Mr. McKenzie received his Juris Doctor from Georgetown University in 1978 and his Bachelor of Arts in 1973 from Harvard University.  

Mr. McKenzie is admitted to practice in New York and the District of Columbia.
